JAKARTA - Pediatrician Fatmawati Hospital Jakarta Jeshika Febi stated that genetic disorders are the main trigger for children suffering from cancer.

"So most of them are genetic disorders and this plays a very important role in cancer in children," Jeshika said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 17.

Jeshika said that cancer is a disease that occurs due to abnormal cell growth. One of them is the genetic disorder.

This disorder makes cancer in children known since they were babies. Precisely when they were born or under the age of one year.

However, the cause of cancer is very different from that of an adult. If cancer in children is caused by genetic disorders, cancer in adults is more influenced by environmental factors, lifestyles to foods consumed.

"A genetic factor plays a role in cancer in children, but lifestyles and all kinds of it are additional exposures but genetic disorders that play a very important role in cancer," he said.

According to Jeshika, cancer can be detected early. Parents can also look at it when a lump appears in an unusual place. For example, on the forehead, stomach or arms.

It is true that if the body has a lump in the form of sap on the chin or neck, but if the condition continues to grow and swell in some conditions, it is advisable to immediately go to the nearest health facility.

It is feared that if it is silenced continuously, the lump develops into a malignant tumor until it finally enters the cancer stage. In cancer types such as cancer or blood cancer, lumps can indeed arise, but often the symptoms are not too visible.

Usually, the child is marked with a pale and weak face followed by red spots in the area of his hand or leg. Several cases were found, there were also bleeding, for example, such as bleeding gums or gums bleeding when the child was brushing his teeth.

Jeshika explained that if this happens, it gets worse and causes children to lose weight, then health workers will immediately check their blood through early detection.

If it is accompanied by a lump, the child will feel pain to walk. Because, there is a possibility that cancer is already spreading in the area around the bone.

"When he walks out he gets sick, he usually doesn't have a lump but he sits a lot and gets sick. If he walks then there is an enlargement from the heart and lympha," he said.
