West Sumatra Regional Police Have Removed The Abuse Of Diesel Subsidized Fuel

The West Sumatra Regional Police have uncovered a case of alleged misuse of subsidized fuel (ANTARA)

The West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Regional Police (Polda) revealed two cases of alleged misuse of fuel oil (BBM) subsidized by diesel type purchased using jerry cans from gas stations in Dharmasraya Regency. Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Police Kombes Pol Dwi Sulistyawan said the arrest of the perpetrator was carried out in two locations on the same day, namely February 15, 2023. "In the first case the officers arrested a perpetrator with the initials EP (33) who was arrested on Wednesday (15/2) on Pulau Tunjung, Dharmasraya Regency," said Dwi as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 17. The perpetrator was arrested along with evidence of a truck carrying 19 units of 35 liters of jerry can which contained Solar-type subsidized fuel at Pertamina gas stations Number 13,275,505. Jorong Parik Tarajak Sikabau Pulau Punjung Dharmasraya Regency. Then seven jerryken units were taken in empty conditions using the car. According to him, this arrest began with public reports about the activity of abusing the transportation of subsidized BBM. The Sub-Directorate IV Team of Special Criminal Investigation Directorates (Ditreskrimsus) followed up on information and on Wednesday (15/2) officers found the action. "This perpetrator was caught by officers. The perpetrator and the slim evidence was taken to the West Sumatra Police Headquarters for development," he said. Meanwhile in the second case, officers arrested a man with the initials (GE) on Jalan Lintas Sumatra KM 3 Jorong Padang Candi Sungai Dareh Kabusaraya on Wednesday (15/2). The officers secured evidence in the form of a minibus, one piece of STNK, nine jerry cans measuring 35 liters containing bio solar and three empty jerry cans as well as one installed pump tool in the minibus car.

According to him, from the investigation carried out, the police determined EP and GE as the main perpetrators of the action and were charged with Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas of Earth which was amended by Article 40 number 9 of the Regulation in Lieu of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation. According to him, in Article 55 of Law 22 2001 and Article 40 number 9 concerning PP Law Number 2 2022 concerning job creation, anyone who misuses transportation or trade in fuel oil is subsidized by the government and carries out mining without a permit shall no longer than six years and a maximum fine of Rp. 60 billion.
