The KPK Council Cannot Participate In Mixing Regarding Karyoto-Endar's Promotion Proposal

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board (Dewas) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) emphasized that it could not interfere with the promotion proposal against the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Karyoto and the Director of Investigation of the KPK Endar Priantoro. They do not have the authority.

"The KPK Dewas does not have the authority to intervene or interfere in this matter," said Tumpak Hatorangan, chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board in a written statement, quoted on Friday, February 17.

Even so, Tumpak said there was nothing strange about the proposal. "This is part of human resource management and something that is commonly done in an organization," he said.

Furthermore, it is confirmed that the KPK Council has received information about the promotion proposal. The KPK HR Bureau stated that there was a letter from the KPK leadership to the National Police Chief.

"The issue of the withdrawal of the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK and the Director of Investigation of the KPK, the KPK Council received information from the HR Bureau that there was indeed a letter," said Tumpak.

For information, Karyoto and Endar have recently been in the spotlight after news circulated of proposals for an increase in positions. This issue arose in the middle of the process of investigating alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E.

In addition to the two, Fitroh Rochahyanto, who previously served as Director of Prosecution, has already been returned to his agency, the Attorney General's Office. However, this return was denied regarding Formula E.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Fitroh was returned because he wanted a career in the Adhyaksa Corps. Currently, his position has been replaced by M. Asri Irwan as acting (Plt) Director of Prosecution.
