Two East Sumba Districts Get Priority For COVID-19 Vaccines, Regency Government Prepares Medicine Warehouses

JAKARTA - The Regent of East Sumba, West Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Gidion Mbilijora said that two sub-districts in the City of Waingapu and Kambera received priority for the COVID-19 vaccine. Gidion admitted that he was ready to administer the vaccination, he was just waiting for the implementation instructions.

"If the operation is ready, we are ready. But we have not received instructions for the implementation until now," said Gidion, Wednesday, December 6. To VOI journalists, he explained that the first people to be vaccinated were health workers. "Because they are very vulnerable," he said.

Meanwhile, the priority group for vaccine recipients is residents over 18 years of age.

Vaccination preparation

Gidion has prepared all aspects for the COVID-19 vaccination. Starting from the human resources, to the vaccine storage infrastructure.

"We have prepared the human resources, starting from the apparatus, we also prepare the medical staff who are used to vaccinating. The infrastructure is also safe. We have a medicine warehouse here," explained Gidion.

However, at this time Gidion still could not contact prospective people who got the vaccine. This is because he has not received any implementation instructions.

He doesn't even know how many doses of the vaccine he will get.

"We also don't know how many units we will get," he said.

Based on the statement of the Regent of East Sumba, Gidion Mbilijora, currently the COVID-19 vaccine has only just arrived in Kupang, NTT.

"Just waiting for distribution to the district," he said.
