Responding To Blusukan Risma, Deputy Governor Of DKI: I Just Heard That There Is A Homeless Person On Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI, Ahmad Riza Patria, admitted that he was surprised that there was a homeless person who was found by the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini on Jalan MH Thamrin when he blusukan some time ago.

Riza admitted that during her stay in Jakarta, she never found any people with social welfare problems (PMKS) on the main street.

"I myself have been living in Jakarta since I was 4 years old. I just heard that there are homeless people on Jalan Sudirman to MH Thamrin. If you are on the outskirts and under bridges, it is true that there are still people," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 6th.

According to Riza, from Risma's blusukan experience, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan immediately ordered the Jakarta Social Service to investigate the causes of homelessness in Sudirman-Thamrin.

If homeless people are still found on the protocol road, the DKI Provincial Government will find a place to live in the Balaraja rehabilitation center.

Meanwhile, homeless people who are categorized as elderly are taken to nursing homes. If the homeless person is a person with mental disorders (ODGJ), he will be taken to the Bina Laras Social Home.

"That is the task of all of us, including the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, with its various policies, programs, and the existing budget, trying to find the best place for all Jakarta residents," he explained.

As previously reported, the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini on Monday, December 28 started his work at the Ministry of Social Affairs with blusukan. Risma visited the Ciliwung River basin, behind the Ministry of Social Affairs office. While heading to the Pramuka flyover area, Risma met several families who lived under the bridge.

The blusukan action was resumed on Wednesday, December 30th. Risma went to the residents who lived illegally in the Panjang Gedong toll road area, Pluit.

Then, Risma returned to blusukan by walking along the pedestrian lane on Jalan Thamrin, right on the right side of Plaza UOB, Central Jakarta on Monday, January 4. Risma met a number of beggars.

Of the three blusukan actions, Risma offered one program to the residents she met, namely a proper place to live. The location is the Social Rehabilitation Center for the Ex-Homeless and Beggars Pangudi Luhur in Bekasi, West Java.
