Assisted By The Center, What Will The Improvement Of Kumuh Village In Jakarta?

Head of Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Areas (DPRKP), Sarjoko explained what the slum village arrangement program run by DKI Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono would look like.

The arrangement of slum villages assisted by the central government will be carried out on public facilities and infrastructure.

"We will intervene through the improvement of public infrastructure, including the sanitation aspect, MCK (bathing, washing, toilet), communal, or clean water. Then structuring the lighting and reforestation aspects," Sarjoko told reporters, Thursday, February 16.

The DKI Provincial Government has two approaches to budgeting in the arrangement of this slum village. If the managed facilities are on land owned by the DKI Provincial Government, then the allocation of funds is borne by the APBD.

"But if the repair or provider is above personal or non-asset, it uses CSR funds (corporate social responsibility) or other sources," he said.

There are 14 areas that have been mapped by the DKI Provincial Government as targets for the arrangement of slum villages. However, the DKI Provincial Government first coordinates with the central government to ensure that priority locations will be arranged.

"Currently we are identifying which locations need to be intervened. So, we are still synchronizing the data," he said.

For information, the DKI Provincial Government received assistance from the central government to organize slum villages in Jakarta. This village arrangement program is different from what Anies Baswedan did when he was still the Governor of DKI.

When he was Governor of DKI, Anies had a slum village arrangement program carried out with the concept of a community action plan (CAP) and a collaborative implementation program (CIP).

In the program, Anies made arrangements by involving residents and communities regarding the settlement development planning they needed. After that, the arrangement was executed by the DKI Provincial Government without involving the central government.

Meanwhile, the arrangement of slum villages is currently coordinated by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK), and its implementation is carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) together with local governments.

This was revealed after a leadership meeting attended by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, and officials from the Ministry of PUPR at DKI Jakarta City Hall.

"The Ministry of PUPR in DKI is associated with handling slum areas, especially handling extreme areas. We follow what is directed by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, we follow up on its implementation in the field and collaborate with the DKI Regional Government," said Head of the Regional Infrastructure Development Agency of the Ministry of PUPR Rachman Arief Dienaputra at DKI City Hall, Wednesday, February 15.
