BOGOR - Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya revealed, the transition period for regional heads that should have ended in early to mid-2024 to the end of 2023 was quite heavy. "From Apex, we often convey that officials (Pj) must understand local dynamics, be able to communicate, the best option is in the Regional Secretary because they are used to and know the sensitivity of the city. Bima conveyed this challenge to the DPR Commission II entourage at the Bogor City Hall who were reviewing the preparations for the 2024 simultaneous general election (election) in their area. There are various challenges faced, including the rules for accelerating the term of office of regional heads which will be completed in early 2024 which must end at the end of 2023. However, preparations for the election stages will still be well guarded together with election organizers who have moved quickly to prepare all stages. "In general, what has been outlined regarding the stages we follow, even though this is at the end of our term of office. We follow all stages according to the rules," he said. Bima explained that the preparation for the election stages had been carried out since 2022 by disbursing reserve funds from the pure APBD as much as Rp70 billion and also changes to the 2022 APBD of approximately Rp50 billion and will be allocated again to the 2023 APBD changes. In addition to budget support, he said, the Bogor City Government is also preparing personnel for needs in the administrative sector, the needs of employees at the sub-district secretariat or PPS. The Bogor City Government together with the KPU also maximized political education and socialization of elections by conducting surveys to the public, whether the stages of elections and the implementation of elections have been well socialized. "And for us the important thing is also in political education to the citizens. Learning from the previous presidential and regional elections which is full of dynamics when issues of certain issues divide the citizens. Therefore, political education is very necessary for young people or novice voters to strengthen togetherness with mass organizations, so that if there are things that interfere with stability, it can be communicated," he said. Previously, during a visit from Commission II of the DPR to Bogor City Hall, the Head of Bogor City Police, Kombes Pol Bismo Teguh Prakoso conveyed about security during the election phase and expressed anticipation of matters that could disrupt the implementation of elections. In terms of security, he said, the Bogor City Police during this stage prepared security personnel at the Bogor City KPU and Bogor City Bawaslu by placing four personnel and four motorized vehicles each.
