JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, asked the central government to evenly add facilities for treating COVID-19 patients in Jabodetabek.
Because, currently many positive patients who live in Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi are being treated at a COVID-19 referral health facility in Jakarta.
"So far, our health facilities are not only for DKI residents, but whoever comes we serve, including Bodetabek, which is quite a lot. Hopefully there is a policy from the central government to be able to share this burden more evenly," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Wednesday, January 6.
Riza said there were 30 percent of residents outside DKI who were treated in 101 referral hospitals or isolated in a number of hotels facilitated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
"It turns out that approximately 30 percent of residents outside Jakarta such as Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Bodetabek) are treated or handled in Jakarta," said Riza.
Riza views that there are certain factors why many Bodetabek residents carry out COVID-19 treatment in DKI. One of them is easier access for these residents to be treated in Jakarta.
"Maybe they have closer access to Jakarta. Really, there are people who want to be treated but we refuse? It's not allowed," said Riza.
Furthermore, Riza also welcomed the central government's plan regarding the tightening of the PSBB in Java and Bali, including Jabodetabek on January 11-25.
However, seeing the high mobility of residents in the Greater Jakarta area, Riza asked the central government to uniform the PSBB policy in the future to be able to control the transmission of COVID-19.
This is because the three provinces, namely DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten within the Greater Jakarta area have different deadlines for the PSBB policy.
"We ask that the PSBB period in Jabodetabek be equalized. So that all the policies we take together are not only in line and in tune, but also under control," he said.
