Pangdam XIV/Hasanuddin Major General TNI Dr. Totok Imam Santoso, SIP, SSos, MTr (Han)., accompanied by a number of Main Officials (PJU) Kodam XIV/Hasanuddin, together with the Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, ST., moved quickly (gercep) to review the location of the floods in several areas of Makassar City and Kab. Gowa, South Sulawesi, Monday 13 February.

Rain that continues to pour in almost all areas of South Sulawesi has caused some areas to experience flooding. To see the situation of the community and ensure that flood management runs smoothly, the Pangdam together with the Governor of South Sulawesi went directly to inspect the location.

On this occasion, Major General Totok also took the time to greet the surrounding residents and listen to the complaints of the problems of residents affected by the flood, so that it is hoped that it can be resolved together.

At the time of the flood, at the first opportunity, the two-star general together with Forkopimda immediately provided ready-to-eat food and basic food assistance to communities affected by the flood in the form of instant noodles, bottled water and rice.

For the disaster, the Pangdam advised the residents to remain strong in dealing with the situation, and remain enthusiastic about carrying out their daily activities and invite them to always pray that the disaster can end soon.

"In accordance with the instructions of the leadership, both the TNI Commander and Kasad, we are indeed helping the government and we have reported to the Governor that personnel and defense equipment are ready to help, so that people affected by the flood do not feel sad, they must remain happy, we help everyone," he said.

Furthermore, Major General Totok revealed that the results of coordination with the Governor and Forkopimda will establish a flood disaster alert post and assistance as well as the construction of public kitchens so that it is hoped that flood-affected communities can carry out their activities comfortably.
