COVID-19 Increases, Mayor Of Bandung Kang Oded Decides No Face-to-Face Learning Until June

BANDUNG - Mayor of Bandung Oded M Danial stated that there are no face-to-face teaching and learning activities during the even semester of the 2020-2021 school year or for the next six months.

The decision, he said, was chosen based on a recommendation from the Bandung City Education Office. So that the distance learning method (PJJ) is still an option for the teaching and learning process in Bandung during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The results of the study by the Department of Education and various stakeholders show that the Bandung City Government in the next even semester is still using online or Distance Learning (PJJ)," said Oded at the Bandung City Hall, West Java, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 5.

The decision will also be officially socialized soon through a Bandung Mayor Circular which refers to Bandung Mayor Regulation Number 73 of 2020 concerning the adaptation of new habits.

"I have ordered the legal department immediately. There is no need for a new regulation," he said.

Kang Oded asked the relevant agencies to make improvements to the results of the previous PJJ evaluation.

"Because I encourage it, the important thing is when it is decided that this even semester will be PJJ again, then I ask that the results of this evaluation must be improved," he said.

So far, the number of COVID-19 cases in Bandung has reached 5,858 cumulatively. Then 528 of them were still confirmed active, 5,175 of whom had been declared cured, 155 of whom were declared dead.
