The Bantargebang RDF Garbage Process Development Target, Which Was Highlighted By Jokowi Molor

JAKARTA - Head of the Counseling and Public Relations Section of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency, Yogi Ikhwan, said that currently, the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant in Bantargebang, Bekasi, West Java is still in process.

In fact, the DKI Provincial Government is targeting the construction of this waste processing facility to be completed in February. Now, the DKI LH Office targets the completion to be delayed to March 2023.

The construction of the RDF Plant and landfill mining was previously reviewed by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono after receiving President Joko Widodo's deposit on the problem of processing Jakarta waste which has not been running optimally in recent years.

"Actually, the infrastructure has been completed. Yesterday the progress was 98 percent, but the infrastructure has been completely completed. Later in early March it will be fully operational," Yogi said when contacted, Monday, February 13.

Meanwhile, currently the progress of the work is in commissioning or testing the comprehensive waste processing plant into coal equivalent fuel. The commissioning stage has been carried out since early January.

"Now there are only 2 percent left, actually the commissioning is almost done. So, the commissioning is a trial of the operation of the tools there. The trial progress of all systems can be fully operational or not," he explained.

For information, the waste processing process into RDF consists of screening (screening), sorting (separating), melting (shredding), and drying (dering) stages. The quality of the resulting RDF will meet technical specifications for the cement industry, including the minimum batch value of 3,000 kcal/kg, a maximum water level of 20 percent, and a maximum size of 5 centimeters.

The RDF Plant in Bantargebang can process 2,000 tons of waste in one day, namely 1,000 tons that have accumulated in Bantargebang, and 1,000 tons of new waste coming from Jakarta. The 2,000 tons of processed waste will be able to produce around 700-750 tons of fuel.

So far, the DKI Provincial Government will cooperate with two companies as optekers or parties who buy the results of the Bantargebeng RDF Plant, namely PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa and PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia (SBI).
