SULTRA - Kendari State Detention Center (Rutan) officers, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), searched the rooms of inmates or inmates in the operation to prevent the storage of prohibited goods.

The Head of the Correctional Division (Kadiv Pas) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Regional Office of Southeast Sulawesi Muslim explained that the search was a routine agenda for early detection of possibilities that could disrupt order in the detention center.

"We searched not to let the residential rooms of inmates stored prohibited items, so we conducted raids or searches," he said in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Monday, February 13, as reported by Antara.

He explained that the inspection was carried out in the corner of the bed. Raids also include searches of inmates. This should not be inserted or hidden prohibited items.

The search by his staff, he said, found no prohibited items such as cell phones or cellphones, drugs, sharp weapons, or other prohibited items stored in the rooms of the inmates.

"Alhamdulillah, after we conducted a search, no prohibited items were found in the rooms of the inmates," he said.

Although so far no prohibited items have been found, his party continues to conduct regular searches as a form of vigilance and of course in accordance with applicable operational standards (SOPs).

In addition to searching the rooms of the inmates, his party has also conducted urine tests on representatives of the inmates. The results were declared negative or free from drug abuse.

In carrying out urine tests on inmates, his party collaborated with the Southeast Sulawesi National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to prevent or detect whether drugs were included in the detention center.

He appealed to all his staff in prisons and detention centers as technical implementing units (UPT) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Southeast Sulawesi to carry out all duties and obligations in accordance with the SOP and provide what are the rights of the inmates so that a good security and order situation is always created in detention centers.
