Ganjar Pranowo Visits KH Muh Musthofa Aqil Siroj, Recalling The Story With Mbah Moen

CIREBON - Memories of the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo for the figure of KH Maimoen Zubair or Mbah Moen came back to life when he came to KH's residence. Muh Musthofa Aqil Siroj at the KHAS Kempek Islamic Boarding School, Cirebon, Sunday 12 February Ganjar and Kyai Muh seemed so engrossed in chatting about this charismatic cleric.

Ganjar arrived at the KHAS Kempek Islamic Boarding School at around 15.00 WIB. He was immediately warmly welcomed by KH Muh Musthofa or who is familiarly called Kang Muh and Nyai Hj Shobihah at his residence.

"Yes, actually I've wanted to visit for a long time, thank God today it happened. Because Kyai Muh Musthofa used to live in Sarang Rembang, so we talked about past romances, when we were with Mbah Moen," said Ganjar.

Ganjar Pranowo is known to be close to KH Maimoen Zubair. Even today, Ganjar leads Central Java with Mbah Moen's son, Gus Yasin who serves as deputy governor.

"That's why the story was two-sided. Kyai Musthofa told me from the side that he became a santri, and I, as a politician who is close and partnered with his son. It turns out that the story is the same, there are many values ​​of unity, about the nation, about humanity. The point is how we are more useful for society," he explained.

Prayed to be Future Leaders

Ganjar talked for a long time with KH Muh Musthofa's family. After that, Ganjar was invited by KH Muh Musthofa to provide motivation to thousands of students at the Islamic boarding school.

Before starting the event, KH Muh Musthofa, who is Mbah Moen's son-in-law, asked his students to pray for Ganjar to become a future leader. He called Ganjar a good leader because his lineage was also from the Ulama.

"He is KH Ganjar Pranowo, Governor of Central Java. Hopefully, he will soon become more than the governor. We pray that he will become a future leader," said KH Muh Musthofa.

KH Muh Musthofa said, apart from being very close to Mbah Maimoen, Ganjar was also close to other great scholars. Ganjar is said to be very reverent and respectful towards the pesantren family.

"And his deputy is Mbah Maimoen's son. This is because he is close to the clergy," said KH Muh Musthofa.

According to KH Muh Musthofa, Ganjar's closeness to Mbah Maimoen and the ulema had a reason. Ganjar is the grandson-in-law of the charismatic NU scholar, KH Hisyam Kalijaran.

"His granny is an NU kyai and also a thoriqoh murshid. So Mr. Ganjar's grandpa is a kyai," he explained to applause from the students.

When giving motivation, Ganjar asked the students to prepare for the future. The future is uncertain and has many challenges, so everyone must prepare early.

"Earlier I chatted with the santri, it turns out that they are progressing. Some of them aspire to become entrepreneurs and sailors. So, the santri now have a powerful vision. It will be complete if general knowledge can be combined with religious knowledge. If this is combined, they will become perfect human beings," said Ganjar.
