Jokowi Gives TNI-Polri Directions Regarding Security For The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo attended the 2023 TNI and Polri Leadership Meeting (Rapim) which was held at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo accompanied President Jokowi, who was wearing black and brown batik, to enter the room. Jokowi was present to provide debriefing and direction.

The TNI and Polri rapim discussed various matters related to the main tasks and functions related to the two security institutions, one of which was regarding securing the 2024 election.

In addition to securing elections, it also discussed Polri's support for the 2023 national strategic agenda.

"The material (discussed) regarding PAM General Election, secures national strategic agendas starting from investment, economic growth, national and international events and maintaining security stability," said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, Wednesday 8 February quoted by Antara.

Rapim TNI and POLRI is an annual agenda that is held at the beginning of each year. In 2022, the Rapim will be held at the Cilangkap TNI Headquarters, East Jakarta on March 1.

This year, the TNI and Polri Rapim have the theme "TNI Polri is Ready to Support Increased Productivity for Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Transformation".

In his debriefing and message, President Joko Widodo reminded the ranks of the TNI-Polri to improve national discipline.

President Joko Widodo emphasized that the TNI-Polri officers should not get involved in democratic affairs and asked the TNI-Polri to tighten discipline in their respective institutions.
