Only 40 Percent of Medical Workers in Simeulue Aceh Received the Second Booster Vaccine

BANDA ACEH - The Simeulue District Health Office, Aceh, stated that the achievement of the second booster COVID-19 vaccine vaccination for paramedics or health workers in the archipelago district had reached 40.1 per cent.

Secretary of the Simeulue District Health Office Hanafi Lubis in Simeulue said, of the 1,282 health workers who were targeted, 514 of them had already undergone the fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

"The achievement of the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine vaccination has reached 40.1 per cent or 514 of the 1,282 health workers in Simeulue who have received the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine", said Hanafi Lubis.

Hanafi Lubis said the fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or the second booster dose was specifically given to health workers. Then it is given to the general public.

"Meanwhile, the supply of COVID-19 vaccine doses in Simeulue Regency currently amounts to 996 doses of the freezer vaccine. The vaccine supply is sufficient for the health workers who are the target of vaccination", said Hanafi Lubis as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 7.

Regarding the achievement of the COVID-19 vaccine vaccination, Hanafi Lubis said that the third dose had reached 44.8 per cent or 32,068 people from the target of more than 62 thousand people. This achievement continues to increase as the COVID-19 vaccine vaccination program continues.

"Meanwhile, for the first and second doses, the achievement has exceeded the national target, which is 76 per cent. For the second dose, it has reached 88.1 per cent and the first dose is 101 per cent", concluded Hanafi Lubis.

Simeulue Regency is the outermost island region in Aceh Province. Simeulue Island is located in the Indian Ocean, which is about 180 nautical miles from the west coast of Sumatra Island.

Simeulue Regency is a division of West Aceh Regency since 1999. Simeulue Regency has 10 sub-districts with 138 villages inhabited by around 94 thousand people.
