Minister Of ATR/BPN Ensures Land Procurement At IKN Still Pays Attention To Customary Land

JAKARTA - The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Hadi Tjahjanto delivered a progress report on land acquisition in the Archipelago Capital City (IKN) in a working meeting with Commission II of the DPR.

"We emphasize that in the land acquisition process at the IKN location, we will continue to pay attention to the existence of community and customary community lands whose existence is recognized and protected," Hadi said as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 6.

Hadi explained, in land acquisition, his party refers to Law No. 2 of 2012, Perppu No. 2 of 2022, and Presidential Decree No. 65 of 2022 concerning land acquisition and land management in IKN and other related regulations.

Currently, land acquisition at the IKN location covers 330 areas of integrated 1A, 163 areas of Sepaku SPAM and transmission networks, 31 areas of IKN Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL), 933 areas of toll roads, and 414 areas of Sepaku Semoi Dam.

Hadi said that his party would pay attention to the application for Cultivation Rights (HGU) submitted in locations around the IKN so that the process and mechanism were carried out correctly in accordance with statutory regulations.

"We make sure that there is no overlapping control over rights that will cause problems in the future," said Hadi.

Hadi also said that there are 151 urban districts in eight provinces that already have a Protected Paddy Land (LSD) designation based on the Decree of the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN No 1589/SK-HK.02.01/XII/2021.

The eight provinces are West Sumatra, Banten, West Java, Central Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara.

"Currently, revisions to the Ministerial Decree are being carried out and it has entered the stage of integrated coordination of the control team for the conversion of paddy fields," said Hadi.
