Hasya Athallah's Family Lawyer Appreciated The Steps Taken By The Metro Police Chief To Revoke The Suspect's Status And Apologize

JAKARTA - Hasya Athallah's attorney, Gita Paulina, appreciated the firm attitude of the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran regarding the revocation of the suspect status against Muhammad Hasya Athallah Syahputra, a FISIP UI student who died in a traffic accident in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 6.

"We appreciate the corrective action from the Metro Jaya Police, especially the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran," Gita Paulina told VOI, Monday, February 6, afternoon.

What Polda Metro Jaya has done regarding the revocation of suspect status to Hasya Athallah, can at least provide justice for Hasya's family.

"We want to realize justice for the late Hasya and his family. So this initial focus is the revocation of the suspect and we appreciate that, so we focused on that first," he said.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya revoked the status of a suspect in a student at the University of Indonesia (UI), Muhammad Hasya Atallah Syaputra in a fatal accident case on Jalan Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said the determination was based on the results of an evaluation of the procedural discrepancy as regulated by the Chief of Police Regulation Number 6 regarding the investigation of criminal acts related to the determination of status and other stages.

"First, revoke the letter of determination of the status of the deceased by the process of notification letter regarding the revocation of suspect status. Based on Kabareskrim regulation number 1 of 2022 concerning standard operating procedures," Trunoyudo told BSD ICE reporters, South Tangerang, Monday, February 6.
