Tanahah BUMBU - Polres Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) has arrested two shabu dealers with the initials JB and AM. From the suspect, the police secured 5.16 grams of crystal methamphetamine which will be sold across regions in South Kalimantan.

Public Relations of the Tanah Bumbu Police, AKP Saryanto, said that members of the Tanah Bumbu Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, South Kalimantan, arrested cross-district drug dealers with the initials JB and AM with evidence of 5.16 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

"The suspects JB from Kotabaru and AM are residents of Tanah Bumbu," said Siyanto as quoted on Monday, February 6.

He said that initially officers received reports from the public regarding suspects who often transacted methamphetamine.

Subsequently, the police conducted an investigation and disguised themselves as buyers. After strong evidence was found, the police raided the two perpetrators at different locations.

From the raid, the police arrested JB with evidence of a package of methamphetamine with a net weight of 0.94 grams, a cell phone unit as a means of buying and selling illegal goods.

Meanwhile, AM found a package of methamphetamine with a net weight of 4.20 grams, a cell phone unit, a digital scale, a plastic clip, and a plastic spoon.

Tanah Bumbu Police Narcotics Unit officers are still developing the cross-district/city drug network.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 112 and Article 114 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a penalty of five years in prison.

Saryanto appealed to the public, especially teenagers and students, not to try drugs because they are at risk of serving criminal penalties.
