Sandiaga Uno Calls the Republic of Indonesia 2023 Tourism Trends Leading to Special Interest Tourism

JAKARTA - The trend of Indonesian tourism this year is towards community-based special interests. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno hopes that this trend can absorb more workers.

Sandiaga Uno explained, these special interest tours include sports tourism or sport tourism, community-based tourism villages (CBT) that focus on quality, so that they have sustainability in the future.

"Tourism must be inclusive, open, especially opening up opportunities for MSMEs and also creating jobs," said Sandiaga in his statement, Saturday, February 4.

Along with the 2023 ATF event which was held in Yogyakarta from February 2 to February 5, 2023, Sandiaga Uno also invited delegates to visit the Nglanggeran Tourism Village in Gunungkidul which in 2021 won an award as the best tourist village from the world tourism organization (UNWTO).

"I invite the delegates to visit the Nglanggeran Tourism Village in Gunungkidul as one of the best villages in ASEAN," he said.

Furthermore, the former Deputy Governor of DKI also mentioned the many MSME products in Yogyakarta that could be purchased by the delegates.

He asked the delegates not only to be guests, but also to buy MSME products from Jogja.

"I advised not to just be spiritual, what is that? The group is just looking around, but be rojali, that is, a group of snacks and purchases," he said.

Sandiaga Uno also revealed a number of important strategies that must be carried out after the COVID-19 pandemic.

As an effort to restore tourism, Sandiaga mentioned 3 efforts, namely fast action, building collaboration between stakeholders, and building inclusivity to create jobs across sectors.

In addition, there will be 3 priority agendas that will be carried out in the future, namely recovery and rebuilding, digital transformation, and sustainability.
