Pakistani Suicide Bomber Able To Bypass Strict Security By Disguising Himself As Police!

JAKARTA - The man who carried out the suicide bombing attack on the mosque in the city of Peshawar, Pakistan, apparently wore a police uniform to gain access to the area.

Reporting from the BBC, Thursday, February 2, it was reported that the suicide bomber entered through the main gate of the safe zone where the mosque was located.

Police chief Moazzam Jah Ansari claimed to have CCTV footage that revealed the man's last movements. He also confirmed the body parts found at the location belonged to the perpetrator.

Officers failed to investigate the perpetrator because they thought he was one of the police, said Ansari.

"I admit this was a security glitch. My people couldn't stop it. It was my fault," he complained.

He explained that the police had been able to trace the motorbike journey of the perpetrator before carrying out the attack using CCTV footage.

When the man parked his motorcycle. The perpetrator was in police uniform, wearing a mask and helmet. After entering the area, the perpetrator asked a police officer where the mosque was.

The police did not believe the man was a 'lone wolf'. Police suspect there is a strong network behind it.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Pakistani Taliban, known as the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) has denied involvement, although the group's top brass have previously provided statements.

On Monday, TTP officials Sarbakaf Mohmand and Omar Mukaram Khurasani claimed the blast was "revenge", for the death of TTP militant Khalid Khorasani last year. But the TTP's main spokesman later denied the group had any involvement in the attack.

"Regarding the Peshawar incident, we deem it necessary to clarify that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has nothing to do with this incident," TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in a statement late Monday.
