A Total Of 2,560 COVID-19 Vaccines Arrived In Central Java

JAKARTA - As many as 62,560 COVID-19 vaccines made by Sinovac, sent from Biofarma, West Java, arrived at the Pharmacy Warehouse of the Central Java Provincial Health Service, Tambakaji, Ngaliyan District, Semarang City, Monday morning at 03.00 WIB.

As reported by Antara, Monday, January 4, tens of thousands of vaccines were transported by refrigerated box trucks belonging to the Ministry of Health under the escort of fully armed Brimob Polri members driving two units of Barracuda armored cars.

A few moments after arriving at the Central Java Health Office Pharmacy Warehouse, the vaccines packed in 32 cartons were immediately transferred to a cold room with a certain temperature.

Kapolsek Ngaliyan Kompol R. Justinus said that the ranks of the Semarang Police, including the police he leads, have the task of securing and maintaining the COVID-19 vaccine as a very valuable object because it is related to the safety of thousands of human lives.

"The distribution of vaccines will be regulated and organized by the ranks of the Health Office," he said.

Previously, the central government through the Ministry of Health began to gradually distribute the COVID-19 vaccine to 34 provinces on Sunday, January 3.

For Monday, January 4, as distributor Biofarma sent vaccines to the provinces of West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Central Java, East Java, Banten, Bali, North Kalimantan, West Sulawesi and Papua.

East Java and Central Java are the provinces with the highest dose delivery with 77,760 and 62,560, respectively, followed by Lampung with 40,520, and West Sumatra with 36,920.

For Central Java, East Java and Banten Provinces, the COVID-19 vaccine is expected to arrive today, while for other areas it is targeted to arrive on Tuesday, January 5, except for West Sulawesi Province which is scheduled to arrive no later than Thursday, January 7.
