PPK Demonstration, KPK Urged To Investigate Ismail Bolong's Illegal Mining Bribery Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was asked to investigate allegations of illegal mining bribery in East Kalimantan involving the Kabareskrim Polri Komjen Agus Andrianto.

This request was conveyed by the Justice Youth Association (PPK) in a demonstration oration.

"Our arrival today is part of the continuation of the previous action which demanded that the KPK not be selective in resolving corruption cases in this country," said PPK Chair Dendi Budiman at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, Jakarta, Thursday, February 2.

Dendi alluded to this case as harming many things, not only the economy but also the environment. Moreover, the practice of mining bribery is common and is not something new.

Because of this, the KPK was urged to investigate the bribery case allegedly given by Aiptu Ismail Bolong to a number of high-ranking National Police including Agus Andrianto. "There are losses that cannot be counted, namely damage to nature and the environment," he said.

"Imagine the satisfaction of the desires of corrupt officials, the environment, and the surrounding community who are the victims," ​​continued Dendi.

PPK admits that it is ready to stage a large-scale action if the bribery case is not immediately investigated. "Not only at the KPK, but we will also hold an action at the National Police Headquarters," said Dendi.

Meanwhile, the Head of the KPK Reporting Section Ali Fikri ensured that every public report would be investigated as long as it was in line with their main duties. In addition, the reporter must also submit initial data so that the search can be carried out.

"When reporting it, it must be accompanied by initial data, a description of the facts regarding the alleged corruption crime. That alone is enough so that the KPK will actively enrich the initial information," Ali told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 2.

"Each reporter must be protected as long as he does not publish himself," he added.

Ali ensured that all incoming reports would also be investigated in accordance with statutory regulations. "There is a mechanism that must be taken," said Ali.

For information, the National Police have yet to investigate the alleged bribery of Ismail Bolong to several internal officials. The Bhayangkara Corps has only opened up the possibility of cooperating with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in investigating the case.

Even so, Ismail has been named as a suspect in illegal mining management along with two of his colleagues, BP who is an illegal coal miner and RP who is the proxy of the Director of PT EMP.
