Strictly Speaking, The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Does Not Allow Face-to-Face Schools

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office has not allowed face-to-face schools. This means that the rules for learning from home for all schools in DKI Jakarta Province in the even semester of the 2020/2021 Academic Year (TA) will still be enforced.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office Nahdiana said the policy was taken because it considers the health and safety of students, educators and education personnel to be the top priority in this era of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, Nahdiana said, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government was very careful in making policies related to the implementation of face-to-face learning in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year.

"The main priority is the health and safety of students, educators and education personnel. Face-to-face learning cannot be implemented, so all schools in DKI Jakarta continue to learn from home (BDR)," he said, in an official statement, Saturday, January 2. .

However, Nahdiana continued, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office continues to make preparations for face-to-face learning and collaborates with various related parties in preparing the learning plan.

He said, several recommendations have also been accepted to ensure the health and safety of students in the face-to-face learning policy taken.

Furthermore, Nahdiana said that her party also coordinated with many parties, starting from the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI), the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), education experts, educational platforms and partners, as well as parents for can ensure that the assessment standards we carry out can be more accurate.

"We have been doing this process for a long time," he said.

In addition, Nahdiana said, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has also prepared a Ready to Learn page. This page is used to assess schools in DKI Jakarta. This Ready to Study page aims to measure the readiness of educational units in carrying out learning activities in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year.

Each assessment item on the Ready to Learn page has criteria that are adjusted to the standard policies of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud), Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office No. 1130 of 2020, as well as the guidelines issued by UNESCO and the OECD.

The results of the assessment will be used as the basis for the DKI Jakarta Education Office to determine which schools are ready and able to implement blended learning, or schools with a combination of face-to-face and online schools.

However, Nahdiana also emphasized that regarding this blended learning decision, parents have the full right to determine whether their children are given permission to take blended learning or learn from home.
