PALEMBANG - The Palembang Police Team, South Sumatra thwarted the smuggling of 30 kilograms (Kg) of marijuana drugs that were allegedly intended to be sent to the city of Bandung, West Java.

"The examination (of the arrests) is currently still ongoing," said the Head of the Palembang Police Narcotics Research Unit, Kompol Mario Ivanry, as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, January 30.

The smuggling was revealed due to the development of information about attempted smuggling via the Sumatran Highway which was received by the police on Friday (27/1) early morning.

The dry marijuana ready for distribution, which is suspected of being smuggled to Bandung, West Java, was secured by the police and their courier at the Palembang Police Headquarters, in Jakabaring.
