PAPUA - Lion Air experienced an incident in Papua. Part of the plane flying to Sentani crashed into the roof of the aerobridge at Mopah Airport Merauke, Papua, on Thursday, January 26.
"It is true that the plane belonging to Lion Air bound for Sentani, Jayapura Regency, had an incident crashing into the roof of the Mopah Airport aerobridge," said Head of Merauke Police AKBP Sandi Sultan, Thursday, January 26, as reported by Antara.
As a result of the incident that occurred around 09.10 WIT, the right wing of the Lion Air aircraft was damaged. However, the extent of the damage was not stated.
It is not yet known whether there were any casualties or damage caused by the incident.
Currently, the Merauke Police are still waiting for a full report on the incident.
