JAKARTA - Director General of Regional Administration Development (Bina Adwil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Safrizal ZA stated that he would continue to promote the COVID-19 countermeasures program in 2021.

For this reason, he asked Satpol PP, Sat Linmas, and regional forces to continue to help deal with the risk of spreading the corona virus. Safrizal asked Satpol PP and Damkar to pay attention to vital objects related to pandemic handling such as laboratories or vaccine storage areas.

"Make sure that the location I mentioned is free from the risk of fire," he said at the Coordination Meeting (Rakor) for the end of 2020 and Projected Readiness for 2021 Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Fire Department ( Damkar), Camat and Lurah throughout Indonesia, Wednesday 30 December.

Safrizal added that his party also underlined the importance of synergy between institutions in accelerating the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized the importance of good publication, socialization and communication so that the public is not affected by fake news or hoaxes about COVID-19.

"Handling of COVID-19 can fail because of hoaxes spread by irresponsible people," he said.

Secretary of the Directorate General of Regional Administration Development (Sesditjen Adwil) Indra Gunawan stated that all parties are expected to actively participate in supporting the COVID-19 vaccination which is planned to be held next year.

"Our hope is from the Ministry of Home Affairs, if later you are involved as a committee to participate actively. No matter how small the performance contribution is to nourish the people around us," he concluded.
