Update On COVID-19 As Of December 30: New Cases Of 8,002, Total Of 735,124 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 72,922 specimens were examined with the results that there were 8,002 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 735,124 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, December 29.

Today's cases increased by 6,958, so that a total of 603,741 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 241 people and a total of 21,944 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 2,053 new cases and a total of 181,713 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 1,233 new cases with a total of 82,555 cases. Central Java has 951 new cases and a total of 80,777 cases. Then, East Java has 896 new cases and a total of 83,217 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,574 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,208 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 911 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 439 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 7,297,374. In detail, 7,172,602 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 124,772 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 97,615 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
