JAKARTA - Delivery of attack weapons to Ukraine that threatens Russian territory will bring global disaster, said one pieces of President Vladimir Putin, Sunday.

Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of Russia's lower house of parliament Duma, also warned that US and NATO support for Ukraine would drag the world into a "terrible war".

According to him, the supply of weapons from Washington and NATO countries to attack civilian cities and attempts to seize Russian territory will trigger more deadly countermeasures with weapons.

Since invading Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Russia has occupied a number of Ukrainian and Moscowan territories saying it will never return these areas.

Kiev says restoring the integrity of Ukraine's territory is not something that can be negotiated.

Volodin's comments follow a similar threat issued last week by Dmitry Medvedev, the former prime minister and president of Russia.

Volodin, 58, who has served as Chairman of the State Duma since 2016, has previously served as a senior official at the Russian President's office.

As a member of the Security Council under Putin, he has direct access to the president.

"The delivery of attack weapons to the Kiev regime will carry global disaster," he said.
