PPP Wants To Repeat When Getting 2 Seats In The DPR From Aceh

JAKARTA - Acting Chairperson of PPP Muhammad Mardiono asked the Aceh Provincial administrators to maintain the seat of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the 2024 General Election.

"Aceh in the 2019 election was quite good and contributed two seats to the DPR RI. Therefore, we do not want to be complacent, to maintain it, we have to do extra work," said Mardiono in his statement in Jakarta, Friday, January 20.

This was conveyed by Mardiono during an electoral district (dapil) with the Aceh Province Regional Leadership Council (DPW) at the PPP Jakarta DPP Office.

He said, ulama leaders in Aceh also fully support the movement of PPP in the 2024 General Election. The scholars need PPP's victory in order to fight for the rights of the people.

"When I visited Aceh, several Acehnese clerical figures in principle fully supported the PPP movement. With the victory of PPP, it is hoped that they can fight for the rights of the people there," he said as quoted by Antara.

Aceh PPP DPW chairman Amiruddin Idris said his staff will continue to strive to maintain the acquisition of seats for the DPR RI in the 2024 General Election, while for the provincial DPRD the target is ten seats.

"In the city/district DPRD, we currently have 28 seats and God willing, our target is 60 seats have been analyzed," he explained.

In order to achieve this target, Idris will approach ulama leaders, community leaders, to welcome the arrival of old figures.

"We visited again the figures who have been resting for a while today. He who is starting to become active again and wants to join is a new energy for us. This also shows that we are not struggling alone, but together to raise PPP again like in the past," he emphasized.
