The Location Of The Tourism Pier At IKN Was Finally Selected, But Special VVIP Airport Still I Think About It

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi reviewed the location for the construction of a tourist pier and VVIP airport located in the Nusantara State Capital (IKN) area.

"Today, we are jointly reviewing points from ports or piers such as Marina tourist piers in Labuan Bajo. There are three alternative locations. But we have decided one location, namely in the Punggur area which is about 9 kilometers from IKN," said the Minister of Transportation, quoted from a written statement received in Jakarta, Friday, January 20.

The Minister of Transportation's working visit to IKN is part of the Ministry of Transportation's steps to prepare development planning and development of transportation facilities and infrastructure in IKN which is one of the priority programs in 2023.

A number of transportation infrastructures to be built in IKN are tourist piers, VVIP airports, and environmentally friendly transportation.

The Minister of Transportation revealed that the distance and travel time not too far between Punggur and Balikpapan would facilitate the accessibility of the two regions.

"In addition, the location also has a beautiful sea view. This Pier will later be equipped with tourist boat facilities, and areas for culinary and other facilities that are attractive to tourists," he said.

In addition to reviewing the location of the prospective tourist pier, the Minister of Transportation also reviewed the location of the prospective VVIP airport which will be used to serve state guests.

"We did an 'overview' by helicopter seeing several points that are alternative locations for the VVIP airport which will also be the Indonesian Air Force air base," he said.

In addition, he said, the Ministry of Transportation is also coordinating with the Indonesian Air Force, the Ministry of PUPR, and other related parties to determine one location from several alternative locations proposed.

"We have determined the point for tourist piers, then for airports we are still collecting the data, hopefully in the near future we can determine the location," he said.
