JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office for Arresting Fugitives (Tabur) has arrested fugitive Basais Sutami, a grandfather from Lampung who has been wanted since 2015. Basais was arrested on January 17 at around 14:45 WIB in Duri Kepa, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta.
This 76-year-old grandfather was convicted in a case involving embezzlement in the family handled by the Bandar Lampung District Attorney.
Based on the Ruling of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 775 K/Pid/2015 dated 23 September 2015, Basais was found guilty of committing the crime of participating in embezzlement within the family as stipulated in Article 376 of the Criminal Code jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code. Basais was sentenced to 6 months in prison minus the period of detention he had served.
However, when he wanted to be secured for execution to undergo a verdict, Basais did not come to fulfill the summons. The Attorney General's Office immediately put Basais on the Wanted Person List (DPO).
