Jokowi Does Not Want The Community To Become A Victim Of Identity Politics, Titip Ke TNI-Polri Dan Kepala Daerah

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo does not want to see people become victims of identity politics in the upcoming 2024 General Election.

"The issue of political stability and security towards the 2024 General Election, I ask you to really be able to maintain a conducive situation. Keep our society from becoming a victim of politics. Its name is identity politics," Jokowi emphasized, Tuesday, January 17.

He reminded the TNI and Polri apparatus not to be involved in practical politics, and asked regional heads and leaders to map out potential election vulnerabilities.

"Don't do it when we have a new incident, we are busy here and there. Who's the fault of this? Who's this?" he also said.

He emphasized that all parties must really have sensitivity in the political year and often go to the field, so that small incidents can be reduced immediately.

"I really entrust this problem," said Jokowi.

On that occasion, the President also asked regional heads to ensure that all religious adherents have the same right to worship, as guaranteed by the constitution.

He emphasized that there should be no mayor's regulation or regent's instructions that prohibit the construction of places of worship. Because freedom of religion and worship is guaranteed by the constitution.

"Because I see that it is still happening. Sometimes I think'severe' is that the person who will worship? It's sad if we hear," said Jokowi.
