Roof Leaks At Komodo Rampung Airport Improved

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has confirmed that the roof in the Komodo Airport terminal area, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), which was leaked due to heavy rains, has been repaired.

"The Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has received reports regarding the leak that occurred in the Komodo Airport terminal area," said Head of the International, Public Relations and General Cooperation Section of the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Mokhammad Khusnu in a written statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 17, as reported by Antara.

The leak was caused by a fairly high intensity of rain on January 15, 2023 at 22.30 WITA until January 16, 2023.

After the incident, said Khusnu, the Komodo Airport Organizing Unit (UPBU) together with contractors immediately carried out investigations and improvements to the area affected by the leak.

"The repair work has been completed and there is no impact on flight operations due to the leak," he said.

For this incident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation ordered that every airport operator and aviation stakeholder always prioritize flight safety and security aspects and always improve services for the convenience of air transportation service users.
