The Cirebon Police have arrested 13 suspected drug dealers and illegal drugs or pharmaceutical preparations without a permit within half a month.

"We have arrested 13 suspects in total. Five are methamphetamine dealers and the rest are drug dealers," said Cirebon Deputy Chief of Police AKBP Dedy Darmawansyah in Cirebon, Monday, January 16.

The suspects were arrested in the period of half a month from January 1-15, 2023, for being proven to have circulated methamphetamine and pharmaceutical preparations without permission.

The 13 suspects, each with the initials GN, AM, SWT, MDA, TR, HR, YS, FS, FAP, WD, CJ, RI, and MA, are residents of Cirebon Regency.

For suspected drug dealers of methamphetamine, continued Dedy, circulating online, where they agreed to transact and then put illegal goods somewhere.

"Then the suspect sent the location via maps where the methamphetamine was placed," he said.

Meanwhile, the alleged distribution of pharmaceutical preparations without permission is by meeting directly, with the buyers somewhere that has been agreed upon.

The amount of evidence that was confiscated included 25.79 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and 13,050 limited hard drugs consisting of 5,364 Dextro pills, 5,028 Trihexiphenidyl pills, and 2,661 Tramadol items.

For cases of methamphetamine and marijuana, the suspect was charged with Article 112 in conjunction with Article 114 in conjunction with Article 127 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The maximum penalty is 20 years in prison, and a minimum of five years in prison.

"Meanwhile, the dealer of pharmaceutical preparations without permission is charged with Article 196 in conjunction with Article 197 of Law Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health. The maximum penalty is 15 years," he said.
