Earthquake In Aceh Singkil This Morning, Magnitude 6.2

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred in Aceh Singkil. The Aceh Singkil earthquake has no potential for a tsunami.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) announced that the Aceh Singkil earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred at 05.30 WIB, Monday, January 16. The depth of the Aceh Singkil earthquake was 23 kilometers.

The epicenter was at sea, 47 km southeast of Aceh Singkil. Location of the earthquake 1.91 latitude, 97.83 east longitude.

"There is no potential for a tsunami," said the BMKG information.
