Sandiaga Proposes A Confining Day To Be A National Holiday, He Said Workers Need Holidays And Healing

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno proposed a tight day to become a national holiday. According to Sandiaga Uno, the proposal has gone through a research process, workers do need a vacation or healing.

"I throw a thought and this has gone through a fairly in-depth research process, both in Singapore and New Zealand, that there is an increase in community productivity if the community, especially professionals and workers, takes time for vaccination or healing," he said. Minister of Pre-Craf Sandiaga Uno, Thursday 12 January.

Sandaga Uno said that his party could facilitate managing holidays by coordinating with ministries and institutions. According to him, holidays that fall on Sunday can be shifted to Monday to increase mobility.

"We can facilitate this if across ministries, institutions, and pentahelix can organize our vacation, which may fall on Sunday, it can be shifted to Monday so that it will further increase mobility," said Sandiaga Uno.

Furthermore, Sandiaga Uno said that his proposal has the potential to encourage the achievement target of domestic tourists in 2023. He said this made the creative economy double from 2022.

"This will encourage the achievement target of IDR 1.4 billion in the movement of domestic tourists in 2023. This will double compared to 2022," he said.

It was this big improvement target that made Sandi propose the idea by discussing it with ministries and institutions. This is to discuss and encourage the weekend (Saturday-Sunday) to be shifted and the tight day can be held on a joint holiday or national holiday.

"So with this big target we put forward our thoughts and immediately discuss across the ministries of the institution, can we encourage the holidays that exist on holidays (Saturdays and Sundays) to be shifted and there are several days when this holiday is held together," Sandi said.
