The West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) is investigating a case of alleged corruption of irregularities in lending that allegedly occurred within the West Java Intan BPR, Garut Regency, West Java. This case caused state losses of up to Rp. 10 billion.
Assistant for Special Crimes at the West Java Prosecutor's Office, Riyono, said the investigation was carried out after the issuance of the Investigation Order of the Head of the West Java High Prosecutor's Office Number: Print-33/M.2/Fd.1/01/2023.
"The alleged criminal act of irregularities in lending is suspected to have occurred between 2018 and 2021," Riyono said in his statement in Bandung, as reported by Antara, Thursday, January 12.
According to him, the investigation process has been carried out since December 2022. So far, he said, eight witnesses have been questioned regarding the alleged corruption, consisting of employees to other parties.
He explained that the largest shareholder of the West Java Intan BPR was the West Java Provincial Government, which was 51 percent or Rp44 billion. Then the Garut Regency Government was 39 percent or Rp. 34 billion, and Bank BJB was 10 percent or Rp. 8.8 billion.
"However, in 2021, the three shareholders will not receive dividends for this capital investment," he said.
In addition, according to him, customers also cannot take their savings or deposits without a clear reason from the West Java Intan BPR.
"The results of the investigation by the West Java High Prosecutor's Special Prosecutor's Office team against PT BPR Intan Jabar, Garut Regency, found fictitious credit and masking loans at several branches of PT BPR Intan Jabar, Garut Regency," said Riyono.
