JAKARTA - Chairman of the Commission for Religious Harmony of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Abdul Moqsith Ghazali encourages the importance of strengthening inter-religious harmony ahead of the political year. "Because this religion must be able to carry out humanitarian missions, not just politics that can rip togetherness," he said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, January 12. Harmony in Indonesia in 2022 is already running on track. In general, religious relations in Indonesia have an understanding. This understanding concerns the position of the constitution (UUD) and the awareness of interfaith figures. Regarding the reflection of religious harmony during 2022, first, the State of Indonesia is a joint decision, so that other arguments that reject the Constitution cannot be tolerated anymore. Second, differences between religious communities if they are related to faith, then they cannot be exchanged for anything more. "But as far as it's not aqidah, then it can be tolerated, right? ” he said. In addition, Moqsith also said that there were several obstacles related to religious harmony in 2022, including that the elements were intolerant and not moderate, basically in all religions. "Every religion is unique, and there are always unique religions that are intolerant, and not moderate. That is the obstacle of the flow of communication between interfaith believers," he said. He gave directions so that in the future inter-religious harmony will be maintained, such as building an open and moderate interpretation of religion. He said the MUI Religious Inter-Religious Harmony Commission had also made a pocket book which contained interaction ethics and how to establish relationships with adherents of other religions.
