Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo apologized to the public, especially the users of the Pantura Pati-Rembang road because the construction of the Juwana bridge disrupted the transportation route. He ensured that he would continue to monitor the Juwana bridge project to be completed according to the target, namely April 2023.

"We apologize because the transportation route must be moved first. Please support the community, be patient until April. They (project implementers) will accelerate it, God willing, April will be completed and will run smoothly again," said Ganjar after checking the progress of the construction of the Juwana bridge, Pati Regency, Wednesday (11/1/2023).

So far, said Ganjar Pranowo, the progress of the construction of the Juwana bridge is quite good. However, the construction process was hampered by the high water discharge of the Silugonggo River. "The work is quite good. It is a bit disrupted because the water is increasing but technically they control the process or how it works," he continued.

To note, the northern side of the Juwana Bridge caught fire last May. As a result, conditions are curved and closed when crossing the bridge which is more than 50 years old. The construction of the bridge will be carried out in June 2022, however, it was delayed due to the unprepared alternative route. Until finally July 2022, the construction process for the north side of the Juwana Bridge building was carried out.

Complaints related to the construction of the Juwana bridge which caused traffic jams in the Pati-Rembang route to go viral on social media in November 2022. The viral video complained about the construction of the Juwana Bridge which had not been completed. In the video, a comparison is also written with a congestion solution due to the construction of the Wonokerto Bridge, Demak, by passing the Semarang-Demak toll road.

Ganjar in checking the construction of the Juwana bridge in early December 2022 said that the construction of the Juwana Bridge was different from the Wonokerto Bridge. Acceleration at the Wonokerto Bridge can be done because it is only a temporary casting, the process at the Juwana Bridge is still quite long, so it needs to be encouraged. Ganjar Pranowo also requested that alternative routes be effective to unravel congestion.
