NasDem Responds To Megawati's Speech Which Sindir Other Political Parties Dompleng Cadres For The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party responded to the speech of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri who insinuated that a political party (parpol) had implemented its cadres for the benefit of the 2024 presidential election. NasDem assessed that each political party was given the authority by the state to nominate a president. "So, if all political parties think that way then I will consider it an abuse of authority given by the state," NasDem Deputy General Chair Ahmad Ali told reporters, Tuesday, January 10. As is known, the NasDem Party has declared former DKI Governor Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Anies is one of three names recommended in the NasDem National Meeting. The other two are the Governor of Central Java as well as PDIP cadres, Ganjar Pranowo and General TNI (Ret.) Andika Perkasa. According to Ali, political parties should not limit the rights of national cadres who have the capacity to be proposed as presidential candidates, both from political parties and non-political parties. "Outside political parties, there are still many national cadres who have the capacity, integrity, which we must not support, we must not take their rights," said the member of the DPR. Even Ali said, the law also stipulates that every citizen who meets the requirements has the right to be nominated or elected. "If later political parties think that all party cadres or all those who set up the party are solely for power and their families to rule, now this limits the rights of other citizens," Ali explained. Ali reminded that not all political party cadres are better than non-political national figures. On the other hand, not all professional figures are better than political cadres themselves. Therefore, Ali emphasized, the NasDem Party opens space for those who are competent to be proposed as presidential candidates. NasDem, he said, is a home and facilitator for the nation's children who want to become Indonesian leaders in the future. "NasDem sees people outside political parties as hope to develop the country. And political parties provide an opportunity for them to run as presidential candidates without them having to become members of political parties," said Ahmad Ali. Previously, PDIP Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri satirized a political party that seemed not to have its own cadres to be supported as a presidential candidate and instead implemented PDIP cadres. It is known, there are several political parties that want to carry the governor of Central Java as a presidential candidate in 2024. The political parties that have recommended Ganjar openly to be promoted are NasDem and PAN. Megawati then questioned the rules regarding the candidacy at the KPU, whether it was still like the previous election or was already different. Megawati emphasized that the rules for presidential candidacy are presidential and vice presidential candidates carried by parties or coalitions of political parties.
