MAKASSAR - A number of beach attractions in Makassar City including Tanjung Bayang Beach, Akkarena Beach and Anging Mammiri Beach are empty of visitors.

This condition occurred after the issuance of the Circular of the Acting Mayor of Makassar, Rudy Djamaluddin, which limited the activities of tourist objects and restaurants to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

This is admitted by one of the managers of a tourist attraction managed by the community, Burhanuddin on Anging Mammiri Beach, Makassar. He said, usually on religious holidays, holidays or on leave with all the beaches in Makassar were full of visitors. All stalls and gasebos are filled with visitors who come with family or friends.

But this time, he continued, only one or two people. That was only a short visit, only to soak in the morning.

One Rustam visitor who deliberately came only for sea water therapy to cure a minor stroke he suffered stated that beach visitors were not crowded.

Meanwhile, Mustari, a trader who usually sells along the Tanjung Bayang Beach area and Anging Mammiri Beach which are located nearby, complained about this condition. Quoted by Antara, Friday, December 25, Mustari said that the closure and restrictions on the operating hours of recreational locations, cafes and restaurants from Thursday, December 24 to January 3, 2021 greatly affected their income.

The reason is, to meet daily needs, he said, it only depends on the proceeds from the sale of mobile cart meatballs in that location. To cover his daily needs, he was forced to try selling in complexes around the Tanjung Bunga area, but he admitted that there were few buyers too.
