Losing, Petahana Isdianto Sues The Results Of The Riau Islands Governor Election To The Constitutional Court, Offends Against Spread The Promise Of Pak RT's Motorbike

JAKARTA - The candidate pair for governor and deputy governor of the Riau Islands (Kepri) Isdianto-Suryani submitted a request for a dispute over the results of the Kepri Pilgub to the Constitutional Court (MK).

In his petition, candidate pair number 02 Isdianto-Suryani argued that the recapitulation of the vote count results for the governor and deputy governor elections of Riau Islands was legally flawed and should have been canceled. Isdianto is the incumbent in the Riau Islands Pilgub.

According to the petitioner in the petition quoted from Antara, Friday, December 25, there were violations in a structured, systematic and massive manner which affected the applicant's decline in the election for the Riau Islands Pilgub.

Candidate pair number 03 Ansar Ahmad-Marlin Agustina, who won the most votes, was accused of spreading promises to distribute two-wheeled vehicles to RT and RW in seven districts / cities in Riau Islands.

In addition, pair number 03 is said to have benefited from outwitting assistance to face the COVID-19 pandemic from the Riau Islands Provincial Government as if it were the Mayor of Batam who is the husband of the candidate for deputy governor number 03.

Apart from candidate pair number 03, the Kepri Provincial KPU is said to be not neutral in carrying out its duties. Among other things, according to the petitioner, by blocking the exercise of their right to vote by not conveying invitations to vote and creating a final voter list (DPT) incorrectly.

The state civil apparatus (ASN) in Batam City is also argued to have abused their authority by participating in campaigning and directing the public to elect candidate pair number 03.

Therefore, according to the petitioner, the vote acquisition should be candidate pair number 01 Soerya Respationo-Iman Sutiawan getting 183,317 votes, candidate pair number 02 Isdianto-Suryani 280,160 votes, and candidate pair number 03 Ansar Ahmad-Marlin Agustina 234,196 votes.
