A 6-year-old Boy Arrested By Police After Shooting A Teacher In The Class, Previously They Had Arrogant

JAKARTA - It may sound strange in this sentence. A six-year-old boy was arrested by police after he shot a teacher.

That is a true story. And the incident occurred in the state of Virginia, United States, as quoted by the BBC, Saturday, January 7.

The shooting took place at around 14:00 local time (19: 00 GMT) at Richneck Elementary School in the city of Newport News.

It was not clear how the child got the weapon. But the boy has already been detained by the police. And the officer was also a little convinced that the incident was not an accidental shooting.

The teacher - who has not been named and said is in her 30s - suffered life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to a local hospital and closely monitored by doctors. The incident occurred in the first room (aged six to seven years) after an argument between the two.

Officials said that while schools - which have about 550 students - have metal detection facilities, students are randomly examined and not all children are examined.

Police refused to name the weapon used in the incident, but said the boy was using a gun.

School District Head Dr George Parker said he would analyze anything that might cause this incident.

"It's terrible, something like this should never happen," added Dr Parker.

"We want to make sure something like this doesn't happen again."

He said schools would close on Monday, and promised that students and parents would be offered support to help them cope with the traumatic events.
