There Were 65 Witnesses Examined By The Corruption Eradication Commission In The Lukas Enembe Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said there were 65 witnesses summoned in the case of the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe. They were questioned regarding allegations of bribery and gratuities.

"We have examined approximately 65 witnesses", said KPK Head of Reporting Section, Ali Fikri, to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, January 6.

Not only examining witnesses, but Ali said searches had also been carried out in various areas. "Not only in Jakarta and Papua, to Batam, Sulawesi, and Medan".

Ali explained that the search was aimed at uncovering the bribery and gratuity cases that ensnared Lukas. Apart from that, the KPK is also trying to trace the flow of money received by the number one person on the Earth of Cendrawasih.

"(Evidence, red) we continue to collect", he said.

"Everything is to trace the alleged money received by the suspect and including assets which later turned into assets of economic value. We continue to collect them", continued Ali.

Lukas Enembe was previously announced as a suspect by the KPK at the same time as the appointment and detention of the Director of PT Tabi Bangun Papua, Rijantono Lakka. However, the regional head has not been detained because he claimed to be sick.

In this case, it is suspected that Rijantono was able to secure the project due to collusion with several officials and Lukas Enembe before the project tender began. Communication is believed to be accompanied by giving bribes.

The agreement in collusion between Rijantono, Lukas, and other Papuan officials was to pay a fee of 14 percent of the contract value. Fees must be net of tax deductions.

At least, there are three projects that Rijantono got for this evil agreement. The first is the improvement of Entrop-Hamadi Road with a project value of IDR 14.8 billion.

The rehabilitation of facilities and infrastructure supporting the Integration PAUD with a project value of IDR 13.3 billion. Finally, the venue environmental management project is developing the AURI outdoor with a project value of IDR 12.9 billion.

After the project was won, Rijantono handed over IDR 1 billion to Lukas. In addition, Lukas is also suspected of receiving gratuities of up to billions of rupiah.
