Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the celebration of Christmas and New Year 2021. Even though this celebration had to go through in different circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Luhut said, the COVID-19 pandemic has limited community activities. In fact, millions of people have lost their jobs due to the adverse effects of the outbreak of this virus from China.

"This epidemic has had many impacts on human life. Many families cannot get together, many workers have lost their jobs, many activities have been delayed because they cannot meet in person," he said on his official Instagram account @ luhut.pandjaitan, Thursday, December 24. .

Even in these conditions, Luhut believes that people can celebrate Christmas with joy. However, he requested that the religious celebration be carried out while still observing health protocols.

"I am sure that all of you are still able to celebrate Christmas with joy, by paying attention to health protocols, namely having Christmas services from home with the whole family with gratitude for being able to celebrate Christmas with your family in a healthy manner," he explained.

At this Christmas moment, Luhut also invited the public to pray and ask God for blessings so that the pandemic would end soon. Thus, the community is able to rejoice and have activities like before.

Not only has a bad impact, according to Luhut, the COVID-19 pandemic brings a valuable student, namely to care more for others. The community, he said, must unite in facing this pandemic.

Luhut also emphasized that all people comply with all health protocols, in this case the 3M rules, namely washing hands, maintaining distance, and wearing masks. "In order to maintain personal and family health," he explained.

Furthermore, Luhut ensured that the government was doing its best to overcome COVID-19 in the country, but still paying attention to the economic sector. Because, he said, the government always sees COVID-19 and the economy as two inseparable things.
