Legislators Of Golkar Presidential Value Not Stepping The DPR In Issuance Of Job Creation Perppu

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives from the Golkar faction, Bambang Patijaya, assessed that President Joko Widodo had violated nothing in the issuance of the Job Creation Perppu.

According to him, Jokowi did not go beyond the function of the DPR because after the Perppu was issued it would usually only be sent for discussion of all factions in parliament. Then, it was decided whether Perppu deserved to become a law. "The mechanism does not involve the DPR. But usually, after that the government will send a presidential decree for further discussion of the Perppu with the DPR to be discussed jointly into law," Bambang told reporters, Thursday, January 5. According to the legislator of the Bangka Belitung electoral district, pros and cons of a regulation are common in a democratic country. However, he said, the public also needs to understand the reason for the government to issue the Perppu. However, the member of Commission VII of the DPR hopes that the Perppu issued by the government can be a solution to the Job Creation Law which is considered conditionally unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court (MK). "(Perppu) It is hoped that it will be a solution to several things that had become the Constitutional Court's decision asking for a revision of the Job Creation Law," said Bambang.

Meanwhile, the leadership of the DPR ensures that members of the council will immediately study the Job Creation Perppu after the recess period which will end on January 10. This quick step was taken by the DPR in line with the many rejections of the Perppu signed by President Joko Widodo on December 30, 2022.

"We have not studied it, because (Perppu) was only conveyed during the recess. We will only be active during the session on January 10. Of course, the DPR will study the contents of the Perppu," said Deputy Chairman of the DPR for the field of Corrections, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 3. It is known that the government has revealed the reasons behind the issuance of Perppu Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation. One of them is making various efforts to create and expand employment opportunities to reduce the number of unemployed and accommodate new workers and encourage the development of cooperatives and MSMEs.
