BARITO UTARA - The Regent of North Barito, Central Kalimantan, Nadalsyah inaugurated a suspension bridge using steel construction that crosses the Teweh River (aak Sungai Barito). The bridge, which was built with personal funds worth Rp. 7 billion, was named Akhmad Gunadi (AG) and is located in Sahuh Village, Teweh Baru District. "On behalf of the community and the North Barito Regency Government, I would like to thank the President Commissioner of PT Mitra Barito for contributing to the construction of the Akhmad Gunadi suspension bridge in Sahuh Village, Teweh Baru District," Nadalsyah said at the inauguration of the bridge in Sabuh Village, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, January 4. According to him, the construction of this bridge is to accommodate the requests of the community leaders of Sabuh Village who wish to have a bridge connecting to other villages. He also conveyed the naming on the basis of the request of local figures. "We hope that all of Akhmad Gunadi's suspension bridges will be able to improve the wheels of the community's economy, besides that, we can also cut the distance to Sabuh Village no longer through Kilometer 27 of Sikui Village, but through Jalan Malawaken-Benangin," he said. The suspension bridge Akhmad Gunadi, which is the name of the youngest son of the North Barito Regent, whose construction is 100 percent using the Nadalsyah family's personal funds, is monitored and adjusted to the standards of the North Barito Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR). Regent Nadalsyah said that when entering March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the APBD all experienced budget refocusing for the recovery of public health conditions and accelerating COVID-19 vaccination. At that time, said Nadalsyah, local governments were very limited in completing the priorities that had been set, one of which was infrastructure development. "Therefore, the role of third parties/companies investing in North Barito Regency is very supportive, so seeing this, PT Mitra Barito through his CSR financed the construction of this suspension bridge," said Nadalsyah. The main spanning of the 75-meter long bridge which is from the side of Sabuh Village is 16 meters long, the bridge connecting the direction of Sabuh Village is 24 meters across with a total length of 115 meters and a width of 2.5 meters that pedestrians can pass, two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, ambulance types and pickups, with a maximum load of 3 to 4 tons.
