Russian Fuel Imports Continue, Government Assigns Lemigas

JAKARTA - The government has ensured that the import of fuel oil from Russia has been realized and will continue. Transactions are carried out through an intergovernmental scheme or government to government by assigning Lemigas.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said the first phase of imports had been carried out by the Indonesian government.

"I repeat, the government of Indonesia, G2G, is the one who imports Russian fuel," said Bahlil after meeting President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 28.

According to Bahlil, the government assigned Lemigas as a public service agency under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to carry out the import.

Bahlil ensured that the purchase of fuel from Russia did not stop at the first stage. The government will continue to maintain national energy reserves and prevent shortages of supplies.

"This will continue. The goal is to maintain our reserves, so that there is no shortage, while ensuring that domestic energy is available," he said.

However, Bahlil did not explain the volume of fuel oil that had entered, the value of the transaction, the type of product, or the next delivery schedule.

He also did not specify the payment mechanism and the country of origin of the shipping port. Bahlil only confirmed that the import was carried out directly by the government through Lemigas.
