If Lukas Enembe Finds Out, The KPK Opens The Option Of Activating The Investigation Opportunity Article

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has the opportunity to implement Article 21 of the Corruption Act in the alleged corruption case that ensnared Papua Governor Lukas Enembe. This application will be carried out if there are parties who hinder the ongoing investigation process.

This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, in response to the activities of Lukas Enembe, who inaugurated four government buildings on December 30. In fact, some time ago Lukas' lawyer said his client had to be taken abroad because of his serious condition.

"Everything is possible, it can be done," Ali told reporters, Wednesday, January 4.

Even so, the KPK did not want to rashly apply the article. All evidence will be sought first by investigators through witnesses summoned, including Lukas' lawyer.

The public is asked to be patient and continue to monitor the development of the case that ensnared the number one person on Earth of Cendrawasih.

"Back again to the existing evidence and the statements of the witnesses," said Ali.

"The witness has been summoned, the lawyer has also been summoned. We will convey the progress later," he continued.

Lukas Enembe on December 30 symbolically inaugurated nine monumental government offices on Cenderawasih Earth. The nine buildings that were inaugurated were the offices of the Governor of Papua Province and became the largest governor's office building.

Then the 16th floor Papuan People's Assembly (MRP) Building, Papua KPU Building, and the Office Building of the Goods and Services Procurement Bureau (BPBJ).

Then the Paniai Regency Samsat office building, Yapen Islands Samsat, Keerom Regency Samsat, as well as 5 service rooms at the Mappi Regency Hospital and Jayapura Hospital.

Meanwhile, some time ago Lukas' attorney had asked the KPK to allow his client to travel abroad for medical reasons. One of his attorneys, Petrus Bala Pattyona, said Lukas had worsened his health condition.

Petrus said, Lukas' condition could be serious if he was not immediately taken to the Lion Country. "So the latest developments regarding Pak Lukas' condition have worsened in three ways, his illness, kidney, lungs, and stroke so that doctors in Singapore have sent recommendations which essentially means that Mr. LE must be brought to Singapore," he told reporters some time ago.

If the anti-corruption commission does not believe it, assistance can be carried out later. Most importantly, continued Petrus, Lukas must be immediately taken to Singapore on humanitarian grounds.

Moreover, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri has stated that he will prioritize health for humanitarian reasons. So, it is hoped that permission will be given immediately so that Lukas can seek treatment abroad, especially since the letter has been sent.

"We have submitted a letter asking the KPK to allow you to go to Singapore, to the hospital there because the doctors who handle it are from Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore," concluded Petrus.
