PALEMBANG - Police shot dead brains to the escape of five detainees from Sukarami Palembang Police in July 2020. The perpetrator fought back with homemade firearms when they were about to be arrested at his home.

Kapolrestabes Palembang Kombes Anom Setyadji said the perpetrator with the initials AS (36) was given tough action by the personnel of the Criminal Investigation Unit on Wednesday morning in Ogan Ilir Regency.

"This perpetrator was the reason the five detainees escaped last July 2020," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 23.

The arrest of the US stems from information regarding his whereabouts in Ogan Ilir District, but the police did not find the perpetrator in the house because they were suspected of knowing the whereabouts of the officers.

In addition to being the initiator of the escape of prisoners, Kombes Pol Anom said that the US had often committed criminal acts ranging from violent theft to involvement in drugs.

From the prosecution against the US, the police confiscated evidence in the form of a short-barreled short-barreled weapon, two sharp weapons and one bullet cartridge.

Previously, the US and four Sukarami Police in Palembang escaped in July 2020 at dawn after breaking through the prison bars with the help of a relative of one of the prisoners.
